Heeding the call to serve!

I wanted to share a letter that I wrote a couple of weeks ago:

Dear President Reichard,
 In a supplement to the United Methodist Reporter entitled “Higher Education,” the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church published an article on “Heeding the Call to Serve!” This article was about Emory & Henry College and the students’  willingness to serve as volunteers throughout the region surrounding our college.

My heart swelled with pride as I read this article. I write this letter to express my most profound gratitude to you for helping our young people to become engaged public servants. I continue to have hope for a troubled world because of young women and men like those who are students at Emory & Henry College. Please express to them my gratitude and encouragement to never give up on transforming this world.
