Chattanooga

At Mental Health Matters: Chattanooga you will gather with folk who have varying experiences of mental health issues – consumers, providers, family, church members, and neighbors. Together, we will share stories of our experiences of how mental health matters in the family of faith. Sometimes, churches respond well to those who live with mental health issues; sometimes not so well – we will consider both kinds of stories. Joyfully, we will learn alongside one another as we converse with our keynote speakers, Dr. Timothy Sisemore. Knoxville

At Mental Health Matters: Knoxville:In today’s society, there are many obstacles our children and youth face daily. Children are being diagnosed at an alarming rate with Attention Deficit Disorders, Autism, Bi-Polar Disorder, and sensory issues. While these children and youth are in the churches care, we want to provide the best environment possible. The dilemma is how does the church nurture and care for them without understanding their life circumstances.

During this workshop the goal is to provide you with tools to help these children/youth feel accepted while providing a loving environment. The speakers and group leaders that have been assembled understand what children/youth face in today’s society. They daily deal with parents, children and teachers. They are prepared to give you hands on tools to make your children/youth activities more successful.

After the presentations there will be a group discussion time. Please come with questions that you might have for these professionals. They are here to help you! With questions, please contact Kim Mink at Kim@concordumc.com or 865/966-6728 ext 228.
