Music Ministry Consultancy seeks to provide churches of all denominations with a wide range of well-tested ideas, products and services to develop new music ministries, problem-solve with current music ministries and recommend spiritual music ministry practices.
MMC is offered by Beth Perkinson McCoy, a diaconal minister in extension ministry through the United Methodist Church with thirty years experience in church music ministry. She has working with children, youth and adults, hand bells, hand chimes and volunteer orchestras. During her fifteen years as Artistic Director of the Mountain Empire Children's Choral Academy, she prepared and conducted choirs for The Symphony of the Mountains, Johnson City Symphony Orchestra and Biltmore Estate. Two of her choirs sang for Holston Annual Conference and she has provided singers and pianists for hundreds of churches. A published author on developing church music programming, McCoy worked extensively with Dr. Carlton R. "Sam" Young on the "Companion to the Hymnal." She has published compositions for hand bell choirs, books of hand chime music and choral arrangements. Her music is recorded by Paraclete Press on the Christmas CD "be merry!"
As a consultant McCoy can advise you on sheet music and musical instrument maintenance and purchase; visit with your church to help you build your music ministry; work with your pastor and current music leaders on problem-solving and selection of qualified musicians when filling vacancies; and help your church develop new music ministries, such as starting a hand bell choir or a children's choir, or enhance current music ministries, such as leading a choral workshop.
