The scripture in Matthew, Chapter 25 (NIV), helps us understand that assistance we provide to others is not only important, it is an opportunity to validate our commitment to Christ. In Matthew 25:40 we read, "..whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
United Methodist Men of the Holston Conference have partnered with The Society of Saint Andrew to help feed the hungry.
Our Holston Conference United Methodist Men have taken advantage of this connection, raising money to pay for transportation of the harvested food, and undertaking the monumental task of scheduling volunteers to do the time-sensitive sorting and food packaging.
During the past year, UMM President, Michael Smith has orchestrated several opportunities for service (see photos).
Your local church United Methodist Men's Unit can participate in this exciting ministry! Contact Holston Conference UMM President, Eric Knoefel, ummpres@holstonconference.com, Phone: (865) 388-9459.
Please note: You do not have to have a UMM Unit at your church in order to take part. All men of the Holston Conference are welcome.

The Society of Saint Andrew connects surplus harvested food with volunteers who help sort and package the food and distribute it to those in need.
