Hope for the Children of Southern Sudan

Ways to Get Involved

  • Pray for peace.
  • Visit the www.africaaction.org web site and click on "Action Center." Join the list serve and send action letters to our nation's leaders. We need to keep Sudan in the news and on their minds. Insist on multi-national intervention.
  • Organize a book reading / discussion group using "They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky." Help to educate others about what has happened and what continues to happen in Sudan. A program study guide is also available under "Links and Resources".
  • A children's resource is available that goes along with the children's book, "Brothers in Hope" and is available under "Links and Resources."
  • Contribute to Holston’s "Hope for the Children of Sudan,” Advance Special #537. Funds will assist with education, health and basic humanitarian needs of Sudanese children who have survived war.
  • Write an editorial to your local newspaper. People respond when they know and understand what the issues are. Sample letters are available at the Africa Action web site.
  • Host a film fest. Consider showing "Hotel Rwanda," “The Lost Boys of Sudan,” or "Invisible Children" and lead a discussion following the movie.
  • Utilize the “Christian Faith Action Packet” from www.savedarfur.org, for sample prayers, bulletin and newsletter inserts, photo display materials, and curriculum links.
  • Interested in being a part of a Sudan mission team?  Complete and send in a Sudan Mission Team application.
  • Pray.
