Where the spiritual hunger to worship God ...

God envisions bold, passionate, and joyful communities of faith where the spiritual hunger to worship God and to serve Christ sets disciples on fire with Spirit-filled, risk-taking love for all God's children until Holston Conference reflects the saving grace and redeeming justice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

-- Vision statement adopted by the 2006 Holston Annual Conference

"I have no problem discussing issues of concern to my church, but I will not be a party to political agendas, whether they come from the conservative side or the liberal side. "

--Paul Black, member of the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference and a lay delegate to the 2008 General Conference, writing about his experience with a telemarketer seeking to "profile" him for political causes.
