Join the Holston Conference United Women in Faith Leadership Team for a now fully scheduled Zoom event. The 49th Annual Meeting will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday morning, September 24th.

Reports will be presented by various conference officers, the 2023 Election will be held, the 2023 Budget will be presented for approval, and individual, local and district achievements will be acknowledged, and a memorial service will be held for the women who have passed since our last annual gathering. It will be a time to connect virtually with our sisters across the Conference.

Harriet Olson, chief executive officer of United Women in Faith will address the gathered membership via video and information will be shared about the new rebranding of the organization.

M. Garlinda Burton, a United Methodist deaconess, is a resource developer and trainer for the General Commission on Religion and Race of The United Methodist Church, which advocates for dismantling institutional and systemic racism and tribalism in church and society. Before taking that post, she served as Executive Director for the Nashville Freedom School Partnership, a literacy/enrichment program for under-served children of color, created by the Children's Defense Fund in Washington, D.C.

Deaconess Burton will address the women of Holston Conference United Women in Faith through a message of empowerment and call to action nearing the end of the 49th Annual Business meeting. Message topic and scripture to be announced. All are welcome to hear and be challenged by the Word. This Spiritual Enrichment Opportunity will be held virtually at no cost with the time for the Message beginning at approximately 12:00 o’clock Noon.

Representation: In accordance with the Standing Rules of Holston Conference United Women in Faith Representation Item 15., each Local Unit with membership up to ninety-nine (99) members may have two (2) voting delegates and Local Units with membership of one hundred (100) members or more may have three (3) voting delegates. as part of the Conference Annual Meeting electorate. All Conference (including ex-officio) and District Leadership Team members shall have voting privileges.

Proposed Business requiring a majority vote of the registered delegates include: 1) the 2023 Proposed Slate of Nominees for the election of odd year of officers, including the President, Secretary, Secretary of Program Resources, Mission Coordinator Spiritual Growth, Mission Coordinator Membership Nurture & Outreach, Chair of Committee on Nominations, and members of the Committee on Nominations as needed, and 2) the Proposed Conference Budget for the calendar year of 2023. It represents the anticipated revenue to be received, projects how funds will be expended and identifies the Mission work to be achieve. It is presented here for your consideration and review.
