Abolishing Poverty Conference: Sharing good news with the poor

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Holston Conference Outreach/Advocacy Ministry Team invites clergy and laity to attend the 2013 Abolishing Poverty Conference Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cokesbury Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Through worship, keynote speaker Bishop Ken Carder, and workshop opportunities, conference participants will explore what it means to offer a Biblical and effective ministry to address poverty in your church’s context.

Pastors are encouraged to bring lay persons with them who are passionate about leading ministries to the poor in their community. Whether your church is just beginning to address the needs in your area or you are deeply involved in poverty ministry, the Abolishing Poverty Conference will provide tools to move forward in this important area of ministry.
