Tyler: "You would fit in perfectly here."

It's Youth Assembly week at Tennessee Wesleyan College! We interviewed three of the 146 students attending Holston's annual summer spiritual event with some random questions.

First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton, Tenn.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I’m going to travel around the globe someday.

How many times have you been to Assembly?
This is my second time.

Why did you come back?
It was fun the first time – getting to experience God and meet new people, the family groups, and the food.

What’s the most fun thing you’ve done at Assembly?
Photography: We took photos of nature with different angles and perspectives.

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten at Assembly?
Banana pudding with strawberries.

What’s the name of someone you just met here?
Sam England.

Describe him.
He’s goofy and like a squirrel. He would like that -- it’s his nickname.

Sing one line from a song you’ve sung here at Assembly.
We are his portion and he is our prize,
drawn to redemption by the grace in his eyes.

Describe your church in three words.
Crazy. Fun. Community.

If you were trying to get someone to visit your church, what would you say or do to get them to come?
I would say, “You would fit in perfectly here. You wouldn’t have a problem getting to know everyone.”

What do you think people ought to know about Assembly, if they don’t know anything?
It’s definitely worth coming to because it’s more fun than you would ever expect.

If you were to tweet something about this interview, what would it be?
I’m horrible at interviewing. I should not be allowed to do this!

What’s the first thing you’re going to do when you get home?
