ALCOA, Tenn. (July 8, 2016) -- Bishop Mary Virginia "Dindy" Taylor released the following statement after race-related fatal shootings in Louisiana, Minnesota, and Texas July 5-7. 

We have all been shocked and heartbroken by the recent shooting deaths in Louisiana, Minnesota, and Texas. The escalating mayhem, fear, hurt, and anger deeply touch us all. We believe in the value of every life. I am thankful for the dedicated police officers who seek to protect our communities. I am grieved by the senseless loss of life.

May we all pray for wisdom as we seek to live together in peace, and for God’s healing grace for the families and all who are suffering. May each of us reach out and develop positive relationships with our neighbors. Let us find paths that lead to justice and mercy for all. We continue to affirm our conviction that love is always stronger than hate.
