Letter to the editor

Regarding the story on the Occupy Wall Street in the Nov. 15 edition ["United Methodists see Occupy Protest ties," UMNS], I wonder if the person who defecated on the police car in New York City was a United Methodist. Possibly the people having open sex in the park were United Methodist. Maybe the people who died from drug overdose were United Methodist. I am constantly amazed at how fast our church is to take every idiotic cause that comes along. Let us stick to spreading the gospel and quit trying to impress the world.
