Need help? Holston Conference is establishing a storm response Call Center on Monday, May 9.
Want to help somebody else? Holston Conference has collected a list of storm-related needs from each affected district. If your church is not already helping one of the devastated communities across the southeast, this list provides specific suggestions for an area close to you.
People are also encouraged to contact the Call Center if they want to schedule a Volunteers in Mission (VIM) work team.
In addition, conference leaders request financial donations to UMCOR and plan to train more volunteer workers.
CALL CENTER: The center's hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The numbers are (865) 309-9530 and (865) 309-3563. Volunteers and conference staff will answer phones. Trained VIM teams will be dispatched to your area, or you may sign up to be on a team.
See our Q & A about the new Call Center.
NEEDS LIST: Diapers in Abingdon District. Batteries in Chattanooga District. Cleaning supplies and meals in Johnson District. Of the five districts with significant storm damage, each has specific requests (and things they don't want, like clothing) for their respective communities.
