To Members and Friends of the Holston Conference:
On behalf of the Holston Delegation to General and Jurisdictional Conferences, I would like to thank each of you for your prayerful support as we quickly approach the 2016 General Conference.
The outpouring of prayer support and the ringing of church bells throughout the Holston area on April 12 was overwhelming. Throughout the last several months we have received many messages of prayer from individuals as well as churches. We've received prayer beads, prayer shawls, and even a signed prayer banner from First United Methodist Church in Newport, Tenn.
Speaking of prayer shawls, the pocket prayer shawls that were left over from last year’s Holston Annual Conference will be distributed to all 894 General Conference delegates along with a letter from Bishop Dindy Taylor and Lay Leader Del Holley.
Thank you, Holston, for the power of prayer that you have gifted our Holston delegation. We go to Portland realizing that much is riding on this General Conference, yet we go in the sure and certain hope that prayer is our foundation and our strength.
Keep praying for we know that the best is yet to come!
David Graves
Chair of the Holston Delegation
