ETOWAH, Tenn. (July 6 2017) — Etowah pastors met Thursday to pray for loved ones of Kelsey Burnette.

The TBI identified the 18-year-old's body as the one found near an alley on Charles Street in Etowah Tuesday. Burnette was last seen early Saturday morning.

"There has been quite a bit of stir on social media as we've all talked about it, lifting this girl and her family up in our prayers," said Jason Humberd, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

The TBI is working with the Medical Examiner's Office in Knox County to determine the cause of death.

"When I found out about it, it just broke my heart," Humberd said. "This is someone's daughter, someone's sister, someone's best friend and it breaks my heart as well as others in the community who knew her."
