ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 17, 2015) -- Members of the Church Hill First United Methodist Church should be pleasantly surprised to find out they actually own the parking lot they’ve been renting from Hawkins County Schools.
In fact, when the FUMC signed the contract to lease that property in 2012 it had technically owned it for nearly 60 years.
On Thursday, the Hawkins County Board of Education’s Buildings and Grounds Committee agreed to recommend that the full board terminate a lease for that property that was signed in May of 2012 for $2.08 per month.
