Bishop Mary Virginia "Dindy" Taylor and Rev. Rusty Taylor are inviting Holston members to join them on an 11-day Holy Land Tour Feb. 25-March 7, 2014.
"As it was for me, it will be a life-changing and faith-deepening experience for you," Bishop Taylor stated. "I had the privilege to first go to the Holy Land 27 years ago with Bishop Kern Eutsler. There is no substitute for seeing the places that you have read about in the Bible. It gives you a perspective that can only be gained by being there."
The invitation was first extended to ordinands, who are receiving a $1,000 scholarship from the Board of Ordained Ministry to help with trip expenses. However, there is room for others to participate.
Hosted by Travel With Friends, the inclusive price is $2,899. This total includes roundtrip airfare from Knoxville, breakfast and dinner every day, transportation, lodging, entrance fees, and all gratuities for the guide and driver.
The itinerary includes Tel Aviv, Israel; Sea of Galilee; Capernaum; Jordan; Caesarea; Megiddo; Nazareth; Cana; Mt. Carmel; Beit Shean; Dead Sea; Masada; Ein Gedi; Jerusalem; Bethlehem; Old City; Western Wall; Dome of the Rock; St. Ann; Via Dolorosa; Mt. Zion; Bethany; Qumran; and Jericho.
A $300 deposit is required by Nov. 1. Balance is due by Dec. 15.
