Jubilee Project celebrates fundraising, completion of Flat Gap renovation

The Faithful Men of Fairview United Methodist Church sing at a celebration for the successful fundraising and renovation of Flat Gap school.

TREADWAY, Tenn. (May 5, 2015) --- Jubilee Project celebrated the opening of its renovated Flat Gap location April 24 with a meal, music, dance, and prayer.

"Thanks to the efforts of Fairview United Methodist Church in Maryville and the financial support offered by the Holston Conference Foundation, along with the support of many friends throughout and beyond Holston Conference, Jubilee Project at Flat Gap is now ready to reopen," said the Rev. Marta Cogburn, interim director of the Sneedville-based mission.

"We planned a day to give thanks to God and to celebrate how God has made a way for Jubilee Project to be in ministry here in Hancock County," Cogburn said.

In addition to clean water, the former Flat Gap school is now equipped with accommodations for incoming mission teams.
