Feb. 22 update: See completed podcasts (6).
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2017) -- Holston pastors will have a new way of keeping up with news from The Call through a podcast launched during this week's Convocation.
The first Convocation podcast is already available, featuring a chat with the Rev. Troy Forrester, design team leader.
The Rev. Terry Goodman is host of the new podcast provided through Spreaker.com.
“My interest was to convey the message of our annual conference to the laity and clergy in a fresh and inviting manner,” said Goodman, pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church in Big Stone Gap, Va.
The Call’s new podcast was inspired by Goodman’s own series, “The Wesleyan Connexion.” He began creating his talk-radio-style show when “God woke me in the middle of the night and laid this endeavor on my heart.”
The Call will offer briefer, selective interviews for its podcast. Listeners may find expanded, additional recordings through Goodman’s “Wesleyan Connexion.”
Goodman completed his undergraduate degree in Communications Broadcast Management at the University of Tennessee in 1983, before going on to receive his M.Div. at Candler School of Theology.
The Call’s podcasts will be made available at
In addition, live stream of Convocation sessions will be provided at Holston.org.
Registration begins at 2 p.m. Monday at Music Road Resort. The event begins with worship Monday night at 7 p.m.
Convocation concludes following a 3:30 p.m. worship service on Wednesday. All events take place in Quartet Ballroom: Dobro, Harp, and Ukulele.
About 300 Holston pastors are expected to attend.
“Clergy Gathering” will not be offered in the midst of the Convocation schedule this year, as it has in years past.
