MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 24, 2015) -- One in every nine people in the world goes to bed hungry each night according to the non-profit international hunger-relief organization, “Stop Hunger Now."
On Sunday, they teamed up with Fairview United Methodist Church in Maryville as they prepared meals for families in need.
The church hosted a meal packaging event to help feed the hungry.
“Today’s event was basically give everybody at church a chance to get their hands truly into missions,” said organizer Nancy Gregg.
More than 400 volunteers scooped ingredients into meal bags, weighed the food then sealed the bags before boxing and stacking them.
