The Open Enrollment period started Friday, Nov. 1, for our conference health-care benefits for all Holston active clergy and lay employees and participating local churches.

We are pleased that our existing plans are presently in compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. We are monitoring information from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for developments that may affect our health-care options.

If you wish to make changes to your present health-insurance plan or if you qualify for enrollment, this is the time to do so, now through Nov. 30, 2013. Additionally, If you wish to continue participating in our Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or desire to enroll for the first time, please do so now through Nov. 30.

If you are currently participating in the FSA program, you must re-enroll for 2014. The limits are the same as for 2013. Please do not discard your current "Benny" cards. These cards are valid for 2014 and will be reloaded with your designated amount for the upcoming year.

Thanks to all, both individuals and churches, who participate in our health-care plans. It is through your continued support we are able to offer affordable and comprehensive coverage options. We are pleased participant rates will remain unchanged from this year.
