RISING FAWN, Ga. (Oct. 18, 2016) — A community shows its support for the firefighters who've worked on a wildfire in Dade County.
Tuesday night, a church near Fox Mountain invited them to a dinner.
Eighty firefighters lined up at Rising Fawn United Methodist Church.
Many of them, clocked in 16 hour days fighting the largest wildfire in Dade County history.
"You could smell the smoke inside the church and it was a constant reminder that people in our community are serving our community," Pastor Mike King said.
What started as a sign in front of the church and at the bottom of the mountain soon turned into an idea.
"It was way bigger than I thought it was going to be," King said.
