Snowbound youth join #Rez16 party through live stream

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Jan. 23, 2016) -- Threatening weather prevented thousands of United Methodist teens in southwest Virginia, east Tennessee, and north Georgia from making their annual trek to the Great Smoky Mountains for Resurrection, a weekend retreat featuring Christian concerts and preaching.

However, many youth groups made the best of the situation by gathering at their home churches to watch the live stream. Some groups made the trip to Pigeon Forge only to be snowbound in their cabins. They ended up participating in part of the event -- attended this year by 5,864 -- on the screen instead of a few miles down the frozen road at LeConte Center.
