KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 24, 2016) -- It was 2014, and the Rev. Gaye Watkins King of South Knoxville was stressed out.

That's what the associate director of connectional ministries for the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church remembers vividly about the day she discovered drumming.

"Within 5 minutes, I could feel my stress level drop dramatically," King explains of the day she attended a mini workshop on drumming. "I'm a 'why' person, so I tried to explore why."

What she found through her research led her to Remo Inc., which is the world's largest drumhead company, and its HealthRHYTHMS Group Empowerment Drumming Protocol that was developed by a neurologist Dr. Barry Bittman.
