ALCOA, Tenn. (Jan. 26, 2017) -- UMCOR has requested Health Kits and Bedding Kits from United Methodist congregations to help build inventory for future disaster responses.

“As you are aware, crisis can occur anywhere, at any time, just as with the recent tornadoes that hit Hattiesburg, Mississippi this past weekend,” said Catherine Earl, UMCOR spokesperson. “We want to be prepared as best we can to answer the call should our brothers and sisters need us.”

Jim Fetzer, director of Holston’s Disaster Response Team, has asked Holston churches to respond. The lists of items for Health Kits and Bedding Kits are on the UMCOR site.

“Ask churches to make arrangements with their district offices to collect them,” Fetzer said.
