United Methodist youth brave snow for #Rez16

The youth group from First United Methodist Church of Bluefield, Va., gets ahead of the snow to arrive in Pigeon Forge.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Jan. 22, 2016) -- Hundreds of youth-ministry directors in east Tennessee, southwest Virginia and north Georgia decided it was too risky to travel through snow to Resurrection, the annual Holston Conference music-and-preaching event typically drawing 10,000+ teens to the Great Smoky Mountains.

However, about 7,200 youth and counselors successfully made it to LeConte Center tonight to hear speaker Fred Lynch and Christian band Bellarive. The event continues through Sunday, Jan. 24.

Here are some of the groups who arrived in Pigeon Forge today. For additional coverage, follow Facebook.Holston.org or Twitter @TheCall_Holston
