Coming in future editions of THE CALL or THE CALL 2:
- How do you live the radical way? This year's Resurrection theme is "The Radical Way," based on 1 Timothy 4:12. Also this month, Shane Claiborne will be speaking at Divine Rhythm, Holston's annual spiritual weekend for young adults. Anyone who has met or heard Shane Claiborne knows this young man is more successful than most at living "the radical way" for Jesus Christ. So let's talk about this. What does it mean to live "the radical way"? How can we do it? How do you see others do it? What's keeping us from doing it? THE CALL wants to hear from youth attending Resurrection as well as others in Holston Conference. We'll post your responses, if we get a good response, in a future edition. (Send your thoughts via the e-mail address below.)
- District Roundup. You love it, we love it. But there are always a few districts from which news and photos are lacking. A new edition of "District Roundup" is coming soon, and we want all districts to be represented, now and in the future. So keep the good news of your ministries coming, and others will be inspired to follow your example.
- Invite me to your church. Last week, we requested feedback on the question, "Why don't we invite people to our churches?" We received ... one response. So let's try this another way. Many Holston congregations seem proud of their hospitality skills and friendly natures. If your congregation is good at inviting others to worship, please tell us why and how. What drives you to be welcoming? How do you do it? Is someone at your church particularly known for inviting people to church -- and getting them to actually attend? We really want to know, so that we can share with others.
Respond to each of these requests by writing thecall@holston.org. Please put "Your 2 Cents" in the subject head.
