Do you have a passion for walking with adults on their faith journey? Does coordinating and organizing volunteer mission work opportunities excite you? Do you want to work with a supportive team and fantastic volunteers?

Asbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, is looking for a full time Assistant Director of Adult Ministry and Outreach to build a ministry that works to implement, teach, and promote spiritual growth opportunities for adults in all stages of life. Working with the Discipleship Team, the Assistant Director will also work to create, enhance, and sustain a culture of relational outreach while encouraging Asbury members to find passion and purpose in their faith journey through service to others. 
 
Asbury United Methodist Church is a dynamic congregation, located in North Shelby County, Alabama, 20 minutes from downtown Birmingham and is a vibrant and healthy congregation. Our church family worships around 1,200 on Sundays and ministers to a multigenerational congregation. Asbury is deeply committed to being a part of The United Methodist Church and being a place that is open to all people. Asbury is a very generous congregation and commits to giving more than 10% of its total annual income directly to mission and service.
 
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of full-time experience within The United Methodist Church and hold a bachelor’s degree in religious studies, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
