How to See 3D – Magic Eye

“Recognizing God’s Strength Through Intergenerational Experiences”
Psalm 68:34-35 (CEB)

 34 Recognize how strong God is!
    His majesty extends over Israel;
    his strength is in the clouds.
35 You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries—
    the God of Israel who gives strength and power to his people!

Have you ever tried to see the 3 D image in Magic Eye pictures?  You often need a few instructions about how to move the page away from your face slowly until your eyes blur.   Then you can focus on the picture before you.  Suddenly, after many trials, your brain can recognize the image.  It is amazing how our eyes can focus, all at once so the image appears so very clearly, and we recognize the picture.
In Sunday School as children, we are reminded that our God is strong, and we can lean on God in times of struggle.  However, when trouble arises in young lives, it can be difficult to see and comprehend the depth and breadth of the love and strength that comes from God’s presence.  When young people have the support of a community of believers made up from different generations who are engaged with them, the magic happens.  They can hear the older generations telling their stories of how God’s strength has pulled them through tough times.  God’s presence and strength comes into focus for them during these conversations.  Everyone is empowered and can envision leaning on God in times of doubt and uncertainty.

“Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us; glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always. Amen.”  Ephesians 3:20 CEB
