This seminar, led by Ray Van Der Laan, host of the “That The World May Know” video series, will explore the week of Jesus life from Palm Sunday to Easter in the setting of the city of Jerusalem. These familiar stories become fresh and powerful when considered in the setting in which they occurred. We will weave together the cultural, historical, geographical and visual context of the Text to discover the original meaning of each story. The Jewish culture, the Hebrew Bible, Imperial Rome who executed him, and the expectations of the disciples will be explored in depth. When the words of Scripture are heard and understood as the biblical writers intended them to be, they transform the reader in a powerful way. Join us as we deepen our commitment to be God’s partners in bringing his shalom to a broken world.
