1 Samuel 3:10; Acts 9:17; Psalm 29:9
Acts 9:17 So Ananias went and entered the house. He laid his hands on Saul and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Psalm 29:9 The voice of the Lord causes the oaks to whirl,
and strips the forest bare;
and in his temple all say, “Glory!”
In the rush and hustle of the now-concluded Christmas season, did we listen to the Lord speaking to us?
In the tumble and fleeting time of Christmas, did our sight allow us to see the Lord God?
The God who avenges his people can do mighty works. Recognizing and living amid God’s power involves all our senses. Maybe this season after Epiphany, this season of COVID-19, is a time for us all to be in the church building so we can say, “Glory!”
Lord God Almighty, your Word has come to us. We get to listen to you speak to us. We get to see and be filled with your Holy Spirit. Whirl and strip away what keep us from hearing you and seeing your Word. You alone are worthy to receive glory. In the power of the name of Jesus, help our unbelief so we may give you the glory that is due to you. Amen.
