2021 Mission Offering & Change for Children

2021 Mission Offering & Change for Children

The 2021 Annual Conference Mission Offering is Holston Helping Holston in East Knoxville. Throughout the years Holston has supported incredible international mission ministries through our annual offering in places like Liberia and South Sudan. We have also supported local mission ministries in Holston such as our Ministry with Children in Poverty grants and, most recently, our grants to help churches create or expand ministry efforts to help battle the opioid addiction epidemic across Holston. This year, Bishop Taylor wants to continue to focus on our needs here in Holston.

As most of you already know, the Austin East Community, in East Knoxville, has experienced several tragedies since the beginning of the year with the deaths of five students from Austin East Magnet School. This East Knoxville area is not only one of great need, but it is also an area with great potential. With your help in this year’s mission offering, Holston churches could surround this area with the love of Jesus and help the needs and offer more hope to this great potential. The money received will be used to help local area churches develop and strengthen their ministries. In addition, the money will be used as we strive to address the following needs in the area: the rise in gun violence, the need for food and nutrition, the need for adequate health care, and the need for adequate housing.

We will be collecting the Mission offering and our Change for Children offering as part of our in-person Annual Conference gathering on Saturday, August 28, at the MeadowView Convention Center in Kingsport, TN. Your offering envelopes will be mailed to your church treasurer this summer.

Thank you for your gifts and your desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
